Thanks to Baker McKenzie for supporting our Mentoring Program

Why should I apply?

We aim to equip these aspiring LGBTIQ professionals with information, skills, contacts and role models to make their transition from university into the workplace easier.

We encourage mentees to set personal and professional goals and a network of mentors to assist them to achieve those goals.

Who can apply?

Mentees are LGBTIQ people who are current students, recent graduates and young professionals aspiring to pursue a career in a broad range of professional industries. We welcome applicants from all professional industries.

Mentors are LGBTIQ people and their allies whom are more established professionals.

Which locations?

Currently, our Mentoring Program caters to LGBTIQ aspiring and established professionals in

  • New South Wales

  • Victoria

  • Queensland

  • Western Australia and

  • the ACT.

How am I matched?

We match established and aspiring LGBTIQ professionals based on their industry interests and on the goals identified in their application form.

Mentors advise about working in professional industries in general and as an LGBTIQ person in particular.

Time commitment?

Our program is designed around a commitment of one year. We encourage our mentors to connect, either by phone or in person, at least every quarter.

Our networking and community events provide a convenient forum for mentors and mentees to touch base with each other and meet other members of the Out for Australia network.
