Our Networking Events

Out for Australia Networking Events – connecting Australia’s LGBTIQ professionals and aspiring LGBTIQ professionals

There are limited forums across Australia that provide opportunities to bring LGBTIQ professionals, aspiring LGBTIQ professionals and straight allies together to network in a nurturing and inclusive environment. Through Out for Australia Networking Events, we bring together students and professionals to provide an opportunity to network, form supportive relationships, discuss various issues, hear from inspiring role models, develop new skills, and/or hear about professional and personal development opportunities.

For students, our Networking Events provide the chance to meet other like-minded students from across the state and to meet professionals at all stages of their careers – from senior executives to graduates. For professionals, our Networking Events provide a platform to impart information and advice on to aspiring LGBTIQ professionals, and to form connections with other LGBTIQ and allied professionals.

Our Networking Events principally cater to people either currently pursuing or working in professional industries, and are open to straight allies to attend.

Past speakers at our Networking Events have included Professor Dame Marie Bashir AD CVO, Don Harwin MLC President of the Legislative Council of NSW, Mark Ebeid CEO of SBS, Professor Kerryn Phelps AM, Terri Butler MP, Tim Wilson, former Olympic Swimmer Daniel Kowalski, Alex Greenwich MP, Paul Zahra former CEO of David Jones, and Californian Senator Ricardo Lara.
